First time using my iPhone photos for here, & amazed at their size.

Every year these eucalypts shed their bark in 

interesting ways, I see them when I walk to the Farmers market

early on Thursday mornings

 am very fond of the abstract patterns

after 2-3 weeks these particular trees are a smooth white

each one has individual patterns

I think their position re sun, traffic, wind etc

is part of how it works

& maybe some are older

like all parts of nature, I like to think they

enjoy to be admired

not in any vain way, just naturally

a particularly intricate & subtle one

have photos from several years, (though no record of which tree)

am fairly sure its a unique creation each year.

Find it strange that the moon can look so much larger

with the camera zoom,

while the fluke of a whale doesn't -

even though its closer, with the zoom at full stretch

- its always a thrill to see them, they are heading south again

this was a section of the arc of a sunset rainbow

all on the same evening

At some time in the 1980's I realised I could add 

a bit of paint to my photos

to bring out things that were almost visible

sometimes just a couple of strokes were enough

& I liked that it should be such a surprise, since

people were expecting just a photo

some photos were old, & I didn't find the hiding folk 

till later, at other times I took the photo because

they were visible

& sometimes it reflected states of mind,

no doubt

Some I've subsequently used in books,

& then I usually had to fix them up a bit on the computer

I stayed at this hotel while I finished the I Ching book,

in San Miguel Allende

Some friends were renting a place here, in southern Mexico.

With the photos, its possible to turn them in the light,

& see where the paint is, this one comes slowly

without that aid

& the tree person/spirit I could see in this

rather mysterious forest in Chiapas

Although I'd been at least one winter in Canada, in Colorado

it was really full on, in the country

the forest was full of entities

there were very few people around, & you know that

hush in snow, & when you hear the plop of falling snow:

I felt they were playing with me

as I've probably said before, nature seems to love

to be admired.. thats not quite the way to say it, but there

is a sense of something reciprocal ~

Part of one headland at Boulder Beach looks

& feels like pumice stone

maybe all of it is part of the gigantic volcano of 

a very long time ago  (before people & other beings)

now there are small details brought by the tides 

or dropped by trees

the leaf section at right is from a Pandanus, 

must have dreamt of tigers

my friend found a tiny mask..

all kinds of subtle messages, wherever one looks:

our world is infinitely interesting, isn't it?

Making some effort to organise my 5 XHD, even though 

I've a low tolerance of such tasks

these are at beaches around Byron Bay

it still amazes me how different they are each time,

not least because of passing moods,

but also wind, tides, light etc

& time
