128 / black & white

A few abstract walls near my small hotel

Didn't venture past this area for a few days,

I liked it a lot . Grey bricks.

lots of past messages

& these interesting trees in the big park nearby

& a bit of blue.

6/11/14

127 / red

Was many hours at the Forbidden City.
Its kept or restored in quite good condition, though I
always like to see where it isn't..

on my own I could notice all the incredible detail,
& marvellous skills

Am not a serious tourist, I figure I can research the history
later, just like to see it

So many people are taking selfies,
they don't notice, perhaps

so I get a kind of un-posed one.
Lots of good looking people.

6/9/14

126/ Beijing

A lovely girl in the park near my hutong hotel.
on the first day

This district of old streets with human sized houses
is near the Emperors Palace

Sometimes you can see into their courtyards

or to an old door that isn't always open.
I could walk around at my own pace, & try to
ease into being in a giant city with
extraordinary numbers of people.

5/15/14

125 / three places

Scheduling posts ahead of time is weird:
the photos are from my Tibet trip last May

these are near the 1922 Everest base camp..
I'm actually in Byron Bay as I write,

yet it will be viewable when I'm in China, on a trip

between Beijing & Kashgar. Time travel of a sort.

5/12/14

124 / while I'm away

doing this in advance, & probably I'll post photos of
my trip in China when I return..these are in Tibet

any colour you can think of, it seems

this looks like copper country

or gold?

& this whole area was like a photographic negative,
quite unreal somehow, like a strange dream just before it
turns scary.

5/10/14

123 / here's some

an impressive - & shrinking - glacier

around every corner more expanses

I love the drama of snow, it's not a common sight in Australia,

nor are the variations we saw in the Tibetan landscape.

5/3/14

122 / mountains

small paddocks on flat parts

roads curving through ~ some very hardy cyclists

the animals waiting for Spring grasses, in early May it
looked like dried moss
